This AUD is harsh, jangly, crowd-heavy, bassless and often hard to listen to, but it's worth it to be able to listen to in your car. At home, stream the matrix version, which is to die for soundwise.
Listened to 1st set so far. Rip-roarin'. Now the 2nd. Unbelievable 2nd set jam, with at least one of the best Eyes ever if not THE best.

This is officially released as Dick's Picks Vol. 14 in much better sound quality. The 'Eyes of the World' is the standout here. The jam build momentum like a giant snowball and even blends into a Slipknot jam at around the 14 minute mark. Great stuff!!!

This show imho is about as good as 12/2, if only it weren't for 12/2's legendary second set jam. But there are a lot of gems on this one including a great TLEO, HCSS, Weather Report AND one of the very best Eyes of the World of 1973. The nearly 10 min. Dark Star jam is really interesting too.
4 stars for AUD sound, but don't pass on by!

I like the raw nature of this audience recording. It transports me to that day even though I was born 2 years earlier. The greatest piece of music I ever heard was "eyes of the world". This rendition is close, but not quite yet, although they build tension in this version and then break loose. The version I heard, it felt like the entire band exploded into little pieces of energy all at the same time. This eyes is close to that moment. A good listen.

sounds like it was recorded through 2 tin cans attached by a string. Pity, because Eyes has a lot of NRG.

I had to turn this one way up on my Rocker (a chair outfitted with a speaker on either side and a subwoofer in back). The sound had some definite hiss to it. However, there were some wonderful moments. A beautiful, long, and powerful Morning Dew began the show. I skipped BIODL, my least favorite song. However, Black Throated Wind followed, which is My Jam. One of the best versions of this classic to be sure. A searing Loser followed a blistering Big River. The Playing to close was aMAZEing. The second set begins like a first set with a high energy Bertha>Promised Land. The sound gets weird in Row Jimmy. I must say that some of the spacier jams leads my mind to wonder a bit. I was happy withe the faster more rockin songs with the audience clapping along. However, the Sugar Mag cuts out before the Sunshine Daydream. Urggh!
